The Wonderful Adventures of Nils written by Selma Lagerrlof is translated to Sinhala. Nils delights were to eat and sleep and make mischief. Nils captures a Tomte in a net while his family is at church. Tomte offer to give a huge gold coin to Nils if Nils free Tomte. Nils rejects the offer and the Tomte turns Nils into a Tomte which leaves him shrunken and able to talk with animals. While this is happening wild geese are flying over the farm on one of their migrations and a white farm goose attempts to join the wild ones. In an attempt to salvage something before his family returns Nils holds on to the bird's neck as it successfully takes off and joins the wild birds. With this farm goose the wild geese take Nils on an adventurous trip.
