The book focuses on three indigenous herbs - aralu (Terminalia chebula) bulu (Terminalia bellirica) and nelli (Phyllanthus embilica). These herbs are widely used in Ayurveda medicine to heal various physical disorders. According to a survey on herbal medicines in 1991 about 400 (four hundred) herbal plants have been found. Aralu bulu and nelli are ranked as 2nd (second) 12th (twelfth) and 15th (fifteenth) respectively. These 3 (three) major herbs are used alone as well mixed with other herbs. The book describes how these herbs are recognized even by the modern medicine as a healing technique for various physical disorders. However the herbs should be consumed only upon a physician’s recommendation. They must not be consumed merely based on herbal benefits.
