Shree Sangharakshitha Yatheendra Krutha Subodhalankaraya Shri Gunanandha Abhinawa Vyakyawa

Subodhalankaraya is a Pali work based on Sanskrit work of poetry analysis Kavya Darshaya. The book however is not a direct translation of the Sanskrit work. The book was compiled by Venerable Sangharakshitha Thera to offer insights into poetic elements in Pali literature. Written in the 12th century the Subodhalankaraya belongs to the Dambadeniya era (1220–1345). This period is considered to be a golden era in Sinhala literature when several works came to be published. The author’s objective in writing this book was to give an idea to anyone with a lesser knowledge in Sanskrit but with a keen interest. The work contains five chapters and 367 stanzas. The author also brings out various opinions from the ancient Indian scholars. The compiler offers word - to - word translation to each stanza.
