Shri Rajasinghe Warnanawa Angatha Kathuwarayeku Visin Rachitha Deveni Rajasinghe Rajathumage Maha Sangramaya

Sri Rajasinghe Warnanawa thought to be written in the first half of the seventeenth century is not known to the most of the readers. Even the original author is not known. This edition based on the scripts found in Archeological Department and a copy found from Judge Thalgodapitiya which embodied with eight hundred & fifty one (851) verses. The text opens with an introductory preface followed by an exploratory examination on this book which clearly and impartially provides the reader a clear understanding on the contents of this text with the background episode. As this was written to praise the unique character of the King Rajasinghe the second and his heroic deeds this classified under the ‘Hatan Kavya’ and ‘Prasasthi Kavya’ in the Sinhala literary history. The editor has successfully presented this text with exploratory clarifications and extended comments where relevant.
