Avushvits Preamaya

This book was written as part of a survival strategy and thus it is filled with reflections on art and literature longings for everyday comforts and hopes for the future - - all the sorts of things which can help one endure. In this way it is inspiring but it is also unavoidably tragic as the title would suggest. Hana and her husband Alexander (Sasha) Munk a student activist were sent together to Theresienstadt (Terezín) in 1942 and later transferred to Auschwitz where they became separated. Thus the diary is an expression of hope for the two to be reunited which they never were.
