Bhakthishatakaya

Bhakthi Shatakaya is used mainly as a tool of learning the language. Wimal Hewa Manage’s edition provides annotations to understand the original work easily. He has used a simple language style to explain deep and profound terms in Bhakthi Shatakaya. The work was compiled during the Kotte period when King Parakramabahu VI reigned. During his time a scholar named Sri ramachandra Bharathi came to Sri Lanka. He studied the Pali canons under Venerable Sri Rahula Sangharaja Thera. Then he composed Bhakthi Shatakaya to express his delight and admiration for the Buddha’s teachings. This edition contains the original Sanskrit script of Bhakthi Shatakaya followed by the explanations provided for each verse.
