Partition Law of Sri Lanka In Practice

Sri Lankan District Courts are full of plaints for partition of land. Due to technical difficulties the courts cannot solve the partition issues within a short span of time. The common masses in Sri Lanka therefore find it difficult to cope with the land partition conflicts. Not only the courts but also the general public does not have a proper awareness of partition laws. Mahanama Tilakaratne compiled ‘Partition Law of Sri Lanka in Practice’ to make the general public aware of the basics of Lankan partition law. Tilakaratne also indicates that the unending nature of the partition cases has attracted the public criticism especially when land is the life and blood of the majority population in Sri Lanka. In simple English both authors elaborate the background and how partition law operates in Sri Lanka.
