Sandakinduru Da Kavya

This is an edition of Sandakinduru Da Kawa written by Venerable Wilgammulla Thero in Kurunegala period when Kurunegala was the capital city of Sri Lanka. Jathakas are conventionally reorganized as episodes of birth legend of Lord Gauthama Buddha as Bodisatwa while fulfilling the perfections. This text opens with an explanatory introduction and conforms to the standard norms of editing classical Sinhala texts. The subject matter being each verse is followed by standard annotations explanatory clarifications extended comments where relevant. It noteworthy indicate that the efforts taken by the editor to present clarifications on each four hundred and thirty four verses included in Sandakinduru Dakawa would be an immense facilitation provided for readers.
