Dashakumara Charitham Shreemath Dandi Prabandha Purva Peetika Shri Pugnyasara Vyakya

Dasakumara Charitha narrates the tales of ten young men. It is a Sanskrit romantic prose authored by Dandin between seventh and eighth century CE. The young men could be identified as either princes of sons of royal officers and ministers. They narrate the story themselves accompanied by prostitutes gamblers demigods and ghosts. The reader will also get to visualise the cockfights robberies murders and sorcery. The sixth chapter introduces a young girl who prepares a meal for her lover. The young girl retains a rich expression in the language. The seventh chapter opens with a man narrating his adventures following a sexual adventure the previous night. And the rest of the chapters reveal how the lovers are caught and a number of adventures.
