Saddharmaratnakaraya Sithiyam Sahitha

The author of Saddharmaratnakaraya Venerable Wimalakeerthi Thera wrote Saddharmararatnakaraya while he was dwelling in a forest monastery. This bulky treatise was written at the invitation of Weerasundara a Buddhist patron and Venerable Wickramabahu Thera according to a passage in the book. The scholars maintain that the Thera had a genuine objective to pass down the Dhamma knowledge to the readers. The author shows fluency of Sanskrit poetry trends as well as the Sinhalese literary trends of his time - between 1410 and 1597. The author strikes a balance between situations and dialogues offering the reader a rich literary experience.
